about

This song was formed inside of a desparately truthful state. The honesty inside of the flow of the lyrics and the melody reflect the confusion, the hurt, the frustration, and the hope that accompanied the loss of Woody Moore for so many people.

The themes of hope buried beneath the lines of the chorus, inspire a Christian to see that there is more to life than trying to figure it all out. There's more to life than trying to answer the question, "Why?" Even when Jesus on the cross asked his Father the question, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" his question remained unanswered. The hope lies within the sovereignty of God. The pain we see now, although so often completely blinding, is merely a mask that is hiding us from the Glory of God.

"For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face."
(1 Corinthians 13:12)

True satisfaction in life comes in the midst of letting go. It seems a timeless truth that nothing here in life will fill the hole in our hearts. Not the money, not the happiness, not even the person. The cry of the chorus reflects that truth; we must only open our hands, that the Lord will fill them again.

lyrics

///

I don't understand, I don't understand the ways that you move
I don't understand, I don't understand you

Help me understand, help me understand the ways that you move
Help me understand you

Open my eyes, open my eyes to see you moving
Open my eyes, Open my eyes to see you
Open my hands, open my hands to let go
Open my hands so you can fill them up again.

Find me where I am, God, where I am - reaching for you
Find me where I am, God, where I am

In the dark wake me up, show me love, light up the room
In the dark wake me up, show me truth
